What are the benefits of private care?

NHS waiting times for hip and knee replacement surgery have increased significantly since the COVID epidemic with patients typically waiting many months. If you are facing a long wait for surgery in pain and with poor mobility you may want to consider ‘going private’ by self-funding your care. This gives you rapid access to treatment in a comfortable private hospital with a single room for recovery and allows you to choose the surgeon you want to treat you. If you have private medical insurance treatments for hip and knee arthritis are typically covered by your policy (but you would need to check with your insurer). If you decide that you would like to be seen privately appointments are typically available within the week and Mr Wheelton can typically schedule treatment at a time that suits you.
